Discover Your Leadership Style With Astrology!

I help my clients gain greater clarity on their unique personality traits so they can determine the type of leader they are naturally suited to be. I use astrology as the primary tool to do so because it already has fundamental archetypes embedded within it which I have correlated to language that is easy to understand. Here are the primary types organized by zodiac sign*:

(*Not sure what your zodiac sign is? You can create a free natal chart HERE.)

Visionary

If you are an Aries, Cancer, Libra, or Capricorn, then you would be what I call a ‘visionary’. These are people who are very independent and self-motivated. They will usually move away from the crowd to take risks, try new things, innovate, and stretch themselves. They are dreamers and very charismatic - you can’t help but feel good around them. They do not like to be micromanaged and don’t really work well on a team unless the roles are clearly defined and they have the freedom to go at the pace that works best for them. If there is a lack of decision-making or leadership, then they will step forward and “take the lead”. It can be difficult for them to sustain their energy (and interest) doing the same thing for long periods of time since they grow & pivot quickly; for entrepreneurs, this means they need to hire quicker than others to offload tasks that they originally spearheaded.

(Example: Luvvie Ajayi Jones & Richard Branson)

Builder

If you are a Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, or Aquarius, then you would be what I call a ‘builder’. These are people who tend to keep to themselves and are very dependable. On the one hand, they won’t do anything they don’t really want to do; and on the other hand, they also have a high tolerance for sticking with the ‘less glamorous’ work longer than anyone. They can be operations aficionados and usually are better at building wealth than others. They value a lot of input from authority figures or training in the beginning of a new venture, however once they know the parameters, they like to be left alone. They struggle to think outside the box, preferring security over something that would jeopardize that. It’s difficult for them to make change in general; for entrepreneurs, this can mean not pivoting when the market changes or implementing innovations to remain competitive in the marketplace. They work best in situations where the business is already established and they’re simply taking the reins; they would struggle more in a startup environment.

(Example: Debra L. Lee & Byron Allen)

Transformer

If you are a Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, or Pisces, then you would be what I call a ‘transformer’. These are people who are the ‘fixers’ and are quite sociable (in a networking sense, not necessarily personally), although they may not feel like they fit in with the crowd. In some form or another, they seek to disrupt the status quo to improve upon it yet are also driven to get numerous licenses, certificates, and degrees and/or enroll in various programs & courses so that their message of change isn’t easily dismissed. Those who are on the margins or who have been victims of unfair practices are the ones they fight for. They are easily confused with visionary types since they share similar personality traits; however while visionaries can maintain focus on one thing, transformers are driven to be involved in many things at the same time, usually to the detriment of their health. Validation of what they’re doing from others they hold in high esteem is important to transformers. As entrepreneurs, they have the most difficulty in establishing a strong team around them as they either bring in folks who need rescuing or they don’t want to feel like they’re making demands.

(Example: Ava DuVernay & Robert F. Smith)

That’s a little bit about the three leadership types! I also take this further as it relates to the role your business plays within its industry in Sovereign, my small group coaching program for entrepreneurs.

Personally, I fall under the Visionary leadership type because I’m a Cancer sun sign. What about you? Does your leadership type resonate? Comment below!
