January 2026 Overview

We have 3 important astrological events happening this month:

First ~

Venus comes to the halfway point of her Aries cycle–the superior conjunction with the Sun–on January 6th. This means she is directly on the opposite side of the Sun from Earth’s view and aligned with the Galactic Center. In other words, she’s communing directly with our Great Galactic Ancestor & Celestial Parent Source. Moving forward as she becomes the ‘evening star’, she’ll be coming back into view in the night sky and beaming out what has been received from this sacred conversation. (Note: The same is true for parts of Mercury and Mars transits which is why this time period is such a boost for our lives and Earth in general.)

While in some interpretations this ‘evening star’ phase is referred to as her ascent out of the Underworld, I assert that this is her return from Heaven, or a conversation with the Divine. Taking into account modern astronomy, the energy surrounding her superior conjunction is not automatically synonymous with struggle & strife, but rather dependent on where she is and where we are when interpreting. In this case, I think we’re in for some key spiritual and energetic downloads in the coming months and will see an increase in self-esteem, physical energy, and improved outlook on life . She’ll eventually have her inferior conjunction in October and begin a new cycle in Scorpio. (No, there won’t be an Underworld experience for that cycle either, but I’ll discuss more on that later in the year!)

Second ~

Mars completes its Scorpio cycle and begins a new 2 year cycle in Capricorn on January 9th. The Scorpio cycle burned through the resources (physical, relational, and/or energetic) gained in the years leading into 2024…now THIS was an Underworld experience! It caused a stripping of comforts and security to challenge faith, inner resolve, courage, and purpose. It forced us to ask what we’ve committed to and why. It doesn’t mean that what was lost was necessarily wrong or ill-gained, but moreso that what was lost held high value to our sense of self. Whenever something of high importance or value in our lives gets shaken or taken away, we face the juxtaposition between the ‘changeable’ and That Which Is Unchanged. That within us which had its foundation in Spirit has emerged as the phoenix; that which was based in ego is most likely gone.

Now the Warrior arises and the inner flame has transformed into an inner sun going into the Capricorn cycle. Mars is exalted in Capricorn, whereas Saturn will be debilitated when it begins its cycle in Aries next month. This experience will drive us to live out our Soul Purpose, i.e. our soul gift to the world. This cycle will increase our drive to show up in our purpose while also being wise in how we do so by the way we carve out our place within society. Recognition and reciprocity from the world around us indicates we are successful in this endeavor. The challenge? We could become overly focused on outside validation and let that lead our actions (and thus lead us from Spirit) OR we shun the responsibility of more visibility and power and thus don’t engage with larger society.

Third ~

Neptune officially enters Aries and will remain there for about 14 years–almost half a Saturn cycle. I’ll be sharing my perspective on this new cycle after Saturn enters Aries and Uranus enters Gemini later in the year as larger transpersonal planetary transits should be viewed together within a broader context.

All in all this is a busy astrological month with key transits happening almost every day. Because the orbits of the planets around the Sun are not perfect circles, the time they spend transiting a particular sign will not be equal. Case in point, Mercury will transit through Capricorn and Aquarius spending roughly two weeks apiece; that’s fast, even for Mercury. This means we most likely won’t spend much time ruminating on things. We’ll see, assess, and decide much more quickly than we might be accustomed to. Because of this, I don’t think the ‘busy-ness’ of the month ahead will be a problem to navigate so don’t worry about it if it seems like a lot!

Working with the moon cycle

Every moon cycle can be divided into 4 phases:

New moon - Use these first 7 days to rest more by keeping your schedule light and prioritize extra time with Spirit.
Waxing moon - Over these 7 days you’ll notice that your motivation and momentum increases. Take action in pursuit of your goals!
Full moon - These 7 days will give you peak energy and drive. This is great for social activities like events, meetings, etc.
Waning moon - These final 7 days are best for knocking out the “To Do” list and strategizing.

Sagittarius Moon Cycle (December 19th - January 17th)

The Sagittarius cycle signals a time of ascension - the alignment and integration of your humanity and your soul - and an alignment with our great central sun (the galactic center). The focus at this time is to center your soul/higher self and Spirit so that the tether (the guiding principle) to what’s next remains clear to your perception. To be clear, it’s always there, but sometimes we can become so distracted with the vicissitudes of life that we forget this truth; we then begin to believe that we’re floating in the middle of nowhere. This cycle advises a daily affirmation of Spirit being the foundation of life and the acknowledgement that there is SO much more that is bigger than us sustaining Life and guiding our path. We are invited to not pretend that we’re “just human”.

Capricorn Moon Cycle (January 18th - February 16th)

The Capricorn cycle invites us to work on making ‘real’ that which we have aligned ourselves with at a soul level. We must really put in the effort and strive to bring the best of our abilities to the manifestation of these things. The time for constant rumination is over! Instead diligent, detailed, and excellent work is required. You’ll know you have ‘succeeded’ when those things outside of your control which have seemed to be on pause suddenly shift and open up. If that hasn’t happened yet, then there’s still more work for you to do or more things you still need to take care of. Don’t skip steps - be appreciative for this time of discipline. Capricorn won’t give a reward unless the work is put in.

Personal Insight

Mercury in Capricorn asks us to tap into our courage and explore new things beyond our current knowledge base and understanding. This does not negate or diminish our current expertise or lifelong experience. Whatever is next for us will not be birthed in isolation. After attaining a new state of internal balance between mind and emotions, it can be daunting to figure out where exactly to direct this newly accessed power. There may be a tendency to try to fit or mold to what is around us. However, we are encouraged to hold strong to that which we’ve fought so hard to attain and attract others who are similarly aligned.

Business Insight

Mercury transiting Capricorn invites you to spend time focusing on one particular product or service that you can use to expand your business in new ways. It’s time to test the waters in your network/community to see where interest lies. Remember - business is a relationship; all parties must agree to the terms in order for a transaction to take place. Just because you are passionate about something and think it will benefit others does not mean that they think/feel the same way. Be willing to try often--and fail often--as you have these conversations. This activity is important in pursuit of what may ultimately be the next feasible option in the evolution of your business.

Mercury in Aquarius (January 20th - February 5th)

Personal Insight

Mercury in Aquarius helps us have a much easier time contemplating spirituality and complex topics while also opening up our ability to communicate with divine beings more readily. This will be a fantastic time to get lots of spiritual downloads from your Higher Self. Trust the messages centered on divine love, cosmic law, and ways to bring about internal balance. This emerging path of humanity requires new guidance, new insight, and new inspiration. (To be clear, it’s “new” to us but not actually “new”.) Let your inner wisdom through your body consciousness and Higher Self be the Truth Tellers.

Business Insight

Mercury in Aquarius is a great transit that helps us think outside of the box, increase our capacity to understand complicated things (like emerging technology), and open doors for connection with new peers and mentors. Plus, we can become incredibly inspired to dream big and reaffirm the components of our long term vision. Lean into reaching out to new people and stretch yourself to learn something new!

Venus in Capricorn (December 24th - January 16th)

Personal Insight

Venus in Capricorn asks some of you to keep things to yourself and allow for an extended period of time for whatever abundance that has recently entered--and will be entering--your life to flourish without exposure to the outside world. Can you keep a secret? Use this transit to really dive into any resistance you have around holding that which is for you sacred AND secret. You already made the decision--stick with it. You don’t need to do “more”. Strengthen your boundaries with yourself! For others of you this transit is a necessary time period to pause, reflect, and get quiet so that you can listen to your inner wisdom. If you want to move forward authentically, then you have to strengthen your ability to hear yourself (your Soul) and drown out others’ opinions or beliefs. If you’re going back and forth on a decision, then drop it and surrender to what answer your Soul gives you. Remember: there is a difference between “important” and “urgent”.

Business Insight

Venus transiting Capricorn sifts through the flurry of possibilities that the Sagittarius transit brought to clear away those people or contracts that are not sustainable or in alignment with the trajectory of the business. Whoever or whatever pops up during this transit--or that which has remained through the last transit--has a higher likelihood of being a beneficial contract. Use the lessons learned from what didn’t work to take the reins in negotiating what you need and want moving forward. Look for an increase in finances over the coming weeks especially if you’ve been consistent with your efforts for growth in the past few months. Business relationships--whether internal or external--can flourish at this time too!

Venus in Aquarius (January 17th - February 9th)

Personal Insight

Venus in Aquarius invites us to keep our focus on making our dreams a reality. Trust the essence of possibilities that can be sensed in the air during this transit and lean into the forward momentum your soul is generating. This can be an incredibly creative time where you’ll find your ability to know exactly what to do and when comes much more easily. Now is not the time to pump the brakes. Your dreams can come true if you truly understand the Door of Opportunity is open right now. Take the actions that will set you up to receive the blessings you say you want.

Business Insight

Beneficial connections in your existing network or a new one can be tapped into at this time. Mentorship is supported as well as sharing experiences so that all benefit. You may find that opportunities, referrals, or other benefits emerge through the people you know. If you’ve struggled with adapting newer technology, use this time to make any necessary shifts; you’ll have an easier time learning as well.

Mars in Capricorn (December 14th - January 22nd)

Personal Insight

Assuming you’ve been able to implement new routines and structure for operating at your individual best, then Mars transiting Capricorn will provide you another opportunity to reapproach your passion, goals, and desires from a much more internally-balanced place. Now you probably have a deeper understanding of the importance of managing your energy as well as getting your personal needs met (you can’t work all the time!). Opportunities abound for the realization of some aspect of your dreams during this time. Be patient and mature now in what you choose to pursue for optimal benefit.

Business Insight

Mars transiting Capricorn signals the time for taking the lead in any collaborative efforts and/or related to the specific mission of the business which serves the greater vision. Make bigger moves and lead with heart and humanity. The foundation is already in place and now it’s time to stretch into the next big chapter. None of these actions should be risky–i.e., purposefully disruptive to what is already working–but rather be a logical progression. Business growth is going to be found in the new. Keep moving forward!

Mars in Aquarius (January 23rd - March 1st)

Personal Insight

Mars in Aquarius signals a very creative time where you are asked to stretch more–train more–so that you can embody more of who you need to be to effectively steward what you want to create. It also brings an important message: you’re very close to achieving your goal. You are at a place of maturity now where you can actually integrate skills in a way that you couldn’t before… and you’ll get better results because of it. While you have a lot of experience and wisdom, you must still be mindful of the fact that there is still more to learn and develop. However don’t let that fact keep you from stepping boldly into action with confidence. Time is never wasted; sometimes revisiting something when you’re older ends up giving you the outcome you’ve always wanted with less likelihood that you’ll sabotage it. Give thanks.

Business Insight

Mars in Aquarius provides a time to leverage more of the technology available to you to support scaling up. This may or may not mean implementing 'new' technology per se--for instance, you might simply benefit from leaning fully into what you're already using--but it does mean that you consider the systems that need to be in place to handle MORE, whether that is clientele, products, employees, etc. If your business doubled, could you handle it? Tripled? At what point would things "break"? These are important considerations as your business evolves. Use this transit to stay ahead of potential snags.
